Visiting Hours
Hiawatha Community Hospital patient visitor restrictions effective Monday, April 26, 2021. HCH will allow 2 visitor per patient during the hours of 7am to 5pm, Monday-Friday and 1pm-3pm on Saturday-Sunday. This includes one person accompanying patients to scheduled appointments in all departments.HCH is committed to continual analysis of Infection Prevention and Control data. Visitor restrictions and updates are revised based off of data trends and resources availability within our organization, community and nationally.
Visitor Restrictions (effective 5/3/2021)
TWO visitor/caretaker per patient will be permitted into the facility between the hours of 7am-7pm Monday-Friday (for all inpatient and outpatient appointments, procedures, etc...in all departments) and 1pm-3pm on Saturday-Sunday.
All who enter are required to be screened. Visitors will receive a "visitor sticker" that needs to be worn visibly while they are in the facility.
Patients and visitors presenting for a surgical procedure will be screened by the surgery department to limit traffic in the main portion of the facility. We ask these patients and visitors to use the north outpatient surgery entrance.
Please reach out to your physician or the department head of the unit you are visiting if you feel there are extenuating circumstances including, but not limited to:
-End of Life Care
-Pastoral Care
No children (defined as under 12 years of age) permitted unless here for their own appointment. Children ages 12-17 are required to be accompanied by an adult. Anyone age 18 and above is considered an adult.
All who enter the facility for extenuating circumstances outside of the open hours listed above, will need to enter through the ER to be screened.
