Visiting Hours
Hiawatha Community Hospital patient visitor restrictions effective Monday, February 15, 2021. HCH will allow 1 visitor per patient during the hours of 7am to 5pm, Monday-Friday. This includes one person accompanying patients to scheduled appointments in all departments.
HCH is committed to continual analysis of Infection Prevention and Control data. Visitor restrictions and updates are revised based off of data trends and resources availability within our organization, community and nationally.
Visitor Restrictions (effective 2/15/2021)

ONE visitor/caretaker per patient will be permitted into the facility between the hours of 7am-5pm Monday through Friday (for all inpatient and outpatient appointments, procedures, etc...in all departments).

All who enter are required to be screened. Visitors will receive a "visitor sticker" that needs to be worn visibly while they are in the facility.

Patients and visitors presenting for a surgical procedure will be screened by the surgery department to limit traffic in the main portion of the facility. We ask these patients and visitors to use the north outpatient surgery entrance.

At this time no visitor will be permitted to visit hospital patients outside of 7am to 5pm, Monday-Friday. This includes weekends unless there are extenuating circumstances including, but not limited to:
-End of Life Care
-Labor and Delivery (one designated support person)
-Pastoral Care
-Other extenuating circumstances, per provider discretion.

No children (defined as under 18 years of age) permitted unless here for their own appointment.

All who enter the facility for extenuating circumstances outside of the 7am to 5pm, Monday-Friday hours, will need to enter through the ER to be screened.
