Childbirth Preparation Course

 

For expectant mothers and labor support persons

  •  Get an overview of pregnancy and  how your baby is developing and learn strategies to deal with common discomforts of pregnancy. 
  •    Prepare for the birth of your child by learning about labor, delivery, and cesarean births, and learn about available tools and techniques.                                                                                 

  •   Learn ways to deal with the pain of labor, and get your questions answered about medical options such as epidurals and IV pain management.
  • Learn about breastfeeding basics and nutrition.

  •  Learn about the care you and your baby will receive directly in the delivery room, as you recover, and you will learn what you need to know to start your new life at home.

  • Car seat safety 
  •  Learn Infant CPR and choking measures as well as other safety measures. 

Interactive learning stations

  • Opportunities to practice what you learn.
  • Open discussions with educated labor and delivery nurses available to answer questions.
  • Tour the OB Department

This class has recently been updated, and will provide new information and more interactive learning. There will be some fun giveaway gifts valued up to $30.

WHEN: Saturday, March 24th and Sunday, March 25th from 10am to 4pm both days

 WHERE: Hiawatha Community Hospital Lower Level Conference Room

 COST: $30.00 charge for class. The cost of the class is waived if you deliver at the Hiawatha Community Hospital
