A Message From the Administrator

Welcome to the Hiawatha Community Hospital Web Site. On behalf of the community and Board of Trustees, I welcome you and hope you find our site a valuable and informational tool.

Hiawatha Community Hospital is rich in history and community pride. Built in 1951 totally by citizen donations, it remains community owned today. The Hiawatha Community Hospital has prospered in the past because of excellent planning by community members. Continued support allows the hospital to provide the highest quality of health care available.

In November of 2003, Hiawatha Community Hospital opened the Surgery Center. The two new operating rooms allows us to accommodate the increasing demand for outpatient surgery, thus keeping our patients at home, eliminating the need to drive 50-70 miles for service.

Our newest addition is currently a construction in progress. In October 2009, Hiawatha Community Hospital began the construction of the new Medical Office Building. The new building will be connected to HCH and will house the HCH Family Practice Clinic, Cardiac Rehab, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Outpatient Clinics, and the HCH Business Office with patient registration.

Our top priority is patient care. We strive to utilize the latest state of the art technology to provide our patients with the quality of care they deserve. And, we would like to hear from you. If you have suggestions on how we can offer better services, please contact us .

Thank you for visiting our site!
